Merry Christmas and happy new year 2010

Thank you for a year of blessing, of new friends made, hearts reaching out across continents, and time to come visit me. I have loved every second of it!

In the coming new year we continue to grow in our friendship, and meet often in front of these screens with more projects and exciting hand embroidery works to share and enjoy.

Wish you all a happy merry christmas
and
happy and fabulous and prosperous new year 2010.

Happy crafting and take care,
Sumy Sunil

Embellished version of salwar kameez

Look at the post here without embellishing.

After embellishing with jamki’s, there is a huge difference. Check this out?

A nice wall hanging

This work has been done by my MIL. It is a handicraft which includes a mat and needle and threads. One has to just follow the color and instruction given with the kit.

Is it not beautiful?...

Design on plain salwar kameez-8

Here is another project that i've done on a plain brown color salwar kameez.

I started with a plan of stitching parsley motif which I saw in one of the website which I don’t remember right. Thanks and courtesy goes to that great stitcher.

But then I somehow didn’t like the outcome. It was good that I started near the neckline..Even if I do something wrong, this will not get displayed as the neckline will get covered anyways with dupatta. I didn’t want to remove it as well.

Then I decided to try a different pattern and I stumbled upon this stitch named chemanthy.

I tried 2 different variations of this stitch.

Tutorials are here.

I joined these chemanthy flowers with running stitch embellished with some jamki here and there.

Please let me know your feedback on this.
